Terms & Conditions
The foundation for a clear working relationship.
01About these terms
These terms cover the American Books Publish website and our author-services enquiries. American Books Publish is the business name used on this site. The contracting party and any additional project-specific terms are identified in your written proposal or service agreement. Website information is an invitation to discuss a project, not an automatic acceptance of an order.
02Commissioning services
Before paid work begins, both parties must agree in writing on the services, deliverables, fees, payment schedule, revision allowance, responsibilities, and estimated timetable. The accepted project agreement governs the commissioned work. A contact-form submission does not create a paid contract or authorize a charge.
03Packages, estimates and changes
Package descriptions provide a starting scope. We confirm suitability after considering manuscript length, complexity, formats, and the support requested. Delivery estimates depend on receiving the required material, agreed payment, and timely feedback. Any added work, new concept, or change to an approved brief requires written agreement on cost and timing.
04Your materials and responsibilities
Provide accurate project information and material you own or are authorized to use. Tell us about relevant permissions, licenses, and restrictions. You are responsible for factual and legal review of your content, including quotations, third-party images, and statements about other people, unless a specific review is expressly included in the agreement.
05Ownership and permissions
You retain rights in your original manuscript and other material you supply. You grant only the permission needed to perform the agreed services. Rights in commissioned designs, editable files, and final deliverables are set out in the project agreement, including any payment conditions. Third-party fonts, photographs, and other licensed assets remain subject to their licenses. Client material is not added to our portfolio without permission.
06Feedback, revisions and approvals
A revision round means one consolidated set of feedback within the agreed brief. Package-specific allowances appear on the Packages page and in the proposal. Corrections to work that does not meet the agreed scope are assessed separately from requests for new work. Review and approve final content, metadata, and production files before publication or promotional use.
07Payment and third-party costs
Fees, milestones, taxes where applicable, and payment methods are disclosed in the written proposal or invoice. This website does not collect card details or accept payments. Printing, advertising spend, platform fees, ISBN charges, and paid licenses are separate unless expressly included. Obtain written clarification before authorizing an expense.
08Cancellations and concerns
Contact us promptly if you need to cancel or believe the work does not match the agreement. Our Refund Policy describes the review process. Your agreement and applicable law determine any financial adjustment; no website statement removes a right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
09Publishing and marketing outcomes
We do not promise sales, bestseller rankings, awards, reviews, media coverage, or acceptance by a publisher, retailer, or distributor. Our responsibility is to provide the agreed services. External platforms control their own review processes, availability, pricing rules, and technical requirements.
10Appropriate use and communications
Do not submit spam, malicious files, false enquiries, infringing material, or attempts to access systems without permission. Enquiry details are used to respond to the request and administer related work. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing list. You may share honest feedback about your experience.
11Website material and external services
Website text, design, and assets are subject to the rights of their respective creators or licensors. Portfolio concepts are clearly identified as illustrative samples. External websites, including our Facebook page, have their own terms and privacy practices. See the Disclaimer for the limits of the examples and general information.
12Updates and contact
The date on this page identifies the latest website terms. Changes do not automatically rewrite an existing project agreement. Questions and disputes should first be raised through the contact details below. Applicable law and any valid project-specific dispute terms govern unresolved matters.
