Creative direction
Define the book’s tone, audience, genre cues, and visual references before exploring a design. Agree on the design brief and the kinds of assets the project requires.

A FIRST IMPRESSION WORTH OPENING
Give your manuscript a distinctive cover and a considered reading experience, with design guided by your story and the readers you want to reach.
Discuss your project ↗A cover has to communicate at a glance, while the interior should make reading feel effortless. We consider genre, tone, typography, hierarchy, and production requirements together so your book feels coherent from the cover to the final page.
A GOOD FIT FORAuthors who need a new book identity, a redesigned edition, or professional layout for print and digital reading.

Develop a cover around title hierarchy, imagery, color, and thumbnail readability. Print editions also need spine and back-cover decisions.
Build a consistent system for chapter openings, headings, body text, running elements, and any illustrations or tables in the agreed scope.
Prepare approved designs for the chosen format and supplier specifications, including trim, margins, bleed, and spine dimensions where relevant.
HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

A GOOD PLACE TO START
A FEW HELPFUL ANSWERS
Creative direction can begin early. Final print artwork often depends on page count, trim size, and the printer’s specifications, so the spine may need to be completed later.
Thumbnail readability is part of cover design. Title hierarchy and image clarity should be checked at smaller sizes as well as at print scale.
These depend on the brief. Any commissioned illustration, stock license, or special font requirement should be identified and priced in the project agreement.
Deliverable formats, editable source files, and usage rights should be stated in the agreement. Do not assume that third-party assets can be transferred without license restrictions.
